High-Speed Internet
One of the problems with living in the country is the lack of high-speed Internet. Macon County is lucky in this regard. Several years ago, North Central Telephone began installing high-speed DSL lines throughout the county. Today, more than 85% of Macon County, including rural areas, has access to high-speed Internet!
In addition, Comcast has wired parts of Macon County (mostly in the Lafayette city limits) with cable which provides high-speed Internet.
