Dale Hollow Lake
On July 9, 1955, D.L. Hayes caught an 11-pound, 15-ounce smallmouth bass out of Dale Hollow Lake. This record still stands today as the world-record smallmouth bass.
There are seven lakes within a hour's drive of Macon County, six of them are Corps of Engineers lakes.
